A new football field has been officially inaugurated for the children of the Somali Police Orphan Training Center, marking an important step in supporting youth development through sports and community engagement.
The Minister of the Ministry of Family Affairs and Human Rights, Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, presided over the inauguration ceremony, cutting the ribbon to open the newly constructed football field built for orphans of the Somali Police Force. The facility will provide a safe and positive space where children can play football, stay active, and build teamwork and confidence.
During the ceremony, Halimo Saciyo Yusuf Abdulle, the head of the Somali Police Orphan Training Center, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Minister for her continuous support and dedication to improving the lives of orphaned children. She noted that the football field will serve as an important resource for the children, helping them grow physically, socially, and emotionally.
Speaking at the event, Minister Khadija emphasized the responsibility of society to care for and uplift orphaned children, especially those whose parents sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. She highlighted that the peace enjoyed today was made possible by the sacrifices of members of Somalia’s armed forces, and that their children deserve care, support, and opportunities for a better future.
Kick4Peace also welcomed the initiative, reaffirming its commitment to supporting youth through sports. As an organization dedicated to empowering young people, Kick4Peace continues to promote peacebuilding, social cohesion, and youth opportunities through football programs and community initiatives.

The inauguration of the football field symbolizes hope, resilience, and a shared commitment to investing in the future of Somalia’s young generation.
